The NT Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service is an Australian Government funded initiative under the Helping Australians with dementia, and their carers - making dementia a national health priority.
The role of the Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Services (DBMAS) is to improve the quality of life of people with dementia and their carers where the behaviour of the person with dementia impacts on their care. This will be achieved by improving care capacity of care workers, carers and service providers.
NT DBMAS multidisciplinary team provides:
- Clinical support, information and advice to client group
- Assessments, short term case management and care planning
- Clinical supervision, mentoring and modeling behaviour management techniques
- Tailored information and education workshops
- 1800 699 799 24 hour help line to be answered by NT DBMAS staff during office hours and SA DBMAS after hours
- Referral service can be accessed through 1800 699 799 or directly via the Darwin office on 08 8982 5202
