Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
Flynn Lodge is located at the Old Timers Village in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. It has a Manager who leads a team of 15 multi-skilled staff.
Sir Ronald Wilson opened the hostel in 1997. It was always intended to provide supported care for elderly people who otherwise would be forced to leave their home and move away to receive care.
A particular target group was those aged people with a diagnosis of dementia. There are two distinct wings, Riverview and Mountview, providing single ensuited rooms for 10 residents in each wing. Flynn Lodge provides 24 hour service for 20 residents.
Through the active respite program, there are approximately five other community residents of the Central Australian region who receive regular respite services. Many of the residents have resided in the cottages at Old Timers prior to moving into Flynn Lodge.
Flynn Lodge also provides respite when beds are available.
