Ngamang Bawoona is run together with Numbala Nunga and is located in Derby in the north west of Western Australia and has a Team Leader and ten multi-skilled staff. The number of residents increased from 11 to 17 in 2003.
Residents are mainly Indigenous and come from the surrounding communities such as Looma, Bidyadanga, Pandanus Park, Jarrlmadangah and Bidijanga. Residents are encouraged and assisted to maintain linkages with their home communities. The environment at Ngamang Bawoona reflects the local community and provides a secure and familiar home for the residents and their families.
Frontier Services was invited to become the auspicing body when the local community based board of management disbanded in 2000.
